Data Services Scrum Team
Client Profile:
Our client is an enterprise-sized Fintech and Gaming provider with offices across the globe.
Client Challenge:
Our client, was engaged in a transformation from an accounting system to an ERP and had no resources focused on data understanding, modification and cleanup before loading into the ERP. Additionally, the ERP transformation lacked a structured approach and was experiencing significant budget and time overruns. The client also struggled to allocate dedicated time for the Product Owner and lacked a cohesive Agile team
structure.
Gigbridge Approach:
- Orchestrated the formation of a dynamic Data Services Scrum Team with a focus on crafting tools for the seamless modification of financial systems data before ERP transformation.
- The Agile approach began by facilitating the identification of a core team around the ERP, utilizing the daily standup to engage and train the product owner through the use of experienced solutions architecture and product design that we recruited and added to the team.
- During the agile ramp-up and transition phase, the team engaged in meticulous sizing, resource scoping, and cost evaluation, with a comprehensive presentation to senior stakeholders. This approach enabled the initiative sponsors to see weekly progress towards their goals and make decisions on chart of accounts changes as well as changing their supply chain and warehouse.
- The recruitment initiative targeted pivotal agile roles, including Scrum Master, Lead Software Engineers, Software Engineers, Data Engineer, UX Designer, and QA Specialist to ensure a well rounded and capable Agile team.
- The Lead Software Engineer, equipped with Scrum certification, assumed the dual role of Scrum Master, steering daily standups, sprint cycles, and retrospectives. This agile team structure allowed for nimble responses to evolving project needs.
Result: This approach enabled the initiative sponsors to see weekly progress towards their
goals and make decisions on chart of accounts changes as well as changing their supply
chain and warehouse procedures. Implementation of Agile methodologies and the
formation of a dynamic Data Services Scrum Team resulted in efficient collaboration,
enhanced initiative management, and the establishment of a skilled and nimble Agile team.
